We look at the special relationship Captain Jean-Luc Picard maintains with three amazing Black women; Guinan, the El-Aurian bartender, Lily Sloane from the film Star Trek: First Contact(1996), and Raffaela (Raffi) Musiker,  his quest companion in the series Picard.

 It’s our first Trek Geeks Crossover Show with the Divine Treasury. The fun we had with our Fandom Friday social media posts made the Sistas curious about collecting. So, we go to the pros, Mike Bovia and Jamie Rogers, host of our sister show The Divine Treasury, for an overview on collecting.  

This week the SyFy Sistas look at the thirteen Star Trek films to see how Black actors have fared in them. We rate the TOS crew, the TNG crew, and the Kelvin crew on inclusion. With a Bechdel-Wallace type test that we call the Cultural Inclusion Checklist we hold these films up to an IDIC mirror.  

It was late on a Thursday night, and the Sistas were a little punchy. But never fear. They perked up just enough to give you their opinions on Star Trek Discovery's latest episode, "Kobayashi Maru." However, we were a bit distracted by the Grace Jones - like costume changes. 

Who would have believed that a nonchalant fangirl post on the SyFy Sistas Muthaship Facebook group could lead to an actual squeal before letting the Fabulous One into the zoom room? The best Anniversary present ever!  

We sit down with Dr. Crystal Fleming, a critical race sociologist, author of three books and an internationally recognized expert on racism and antiracism. Our conversation ranges from Black Respectability politics to the myth of Utopia in the Star Trek universe, to our deep love of DS9 & The Sisko.

It's 'Science with Mohamed' as the Sistas get the answers to those questions you've been dying to ask. The episodes "Distant Origin" and "Lineage" from Voyager, and "Masterpiece Society," and "Up the Long Ladder" from TNG come up in this conversation. 

Far Beyond the Stars, by Marc Scott Zicree, is one of the most celebrated episodes of the franchise. We talked to Marc about how the then controversial DS9 episode made it to the screen, why Avery Brooks had to direct it, and the efforts of the cast and crew to make it as authentic as possible.  

David, the alter ego of Disco’s favorite Saurian - Linus, joins us for a wide-ranging conversation. The talented writer, producer, and actor spills the tea on keeping up as a Klingon, his cast buddies, and how he made Sonequa Martin-Green crack up his first day on the set as Linus.

The SyFy Sistas present our 12” Disco Version of Star Trek: The Cruise V our love letter to Royal Caribbean Cruises and Entertainment Cruise Productions, some of the hardest working people at sea. We aren’t the only ones telling sea stories.  A few of our new friends joined us on the mic.

We sit down with Jayne Brook, a film and TV actor that has earned three Screen Actors Guild nominations for Chicago Hope and a Prism Award for Performance in a Drama Series for Boston Legal. We know her for her role as Star Trek Discovery's Vice Admiral Katrina Cornwell.
